My true love once gave me a wedding band of gold, Once sparkled like the sun, now tarnished bent and old, But she still shines for me, yes she still shines for me My true love once gave me a Martin Box so fine, Thousand gigs in hands in country bands, says she's done her time, but she still sings for me, yes she still sings for me My true love once gave me some shoes of leather hide, Scuff the meat right off my feet, the laces come united But she still walks me home, yes she still walks me home My true love once gave me a house upon the hill, I've been away for 10 long years, She's livin' in it still And she keeps it warm for me, yes she keeps it warm for me My true love once gave me a watch and silver chain, It once missed that minute hand, and missed that east bound train But she still bides her time, lord she still bides her time, She'll wear you down and break you in until you fall apart. They she'll mend your broken heart My true love once gave me a little baby boy, I crossed the Mississippi up to Rockford Illinois, But he still cries for me, yes he still cries for me

These days it seems like time is biding me Spent all my money, and I don't have a receipt I'm worried about the future, and I dwell upon the past And if there's anything that I learned it's that This too shall pass These days the clock upon my wall feel like a jail I'm handcuffed to the second hand, no one to go my bail And the days go by so slowly yet the hours go to fast And if there's anything that I learned it's that This too shall pass (Chorus) Oh Time flies like an arrow, and Time bends like a bow It goes by before you blink your eye, comes back before you know I'm savoring the moments for the moments never last And if there's anything that I learned its that This too shall pass Well I don't know where I'm going, but Ill get there yes-sire There aint no way of knowing, got no lifetime guarantee I aint afraid a-makin' no wrong turns or to break a little glass And if there's anything that I learned it's that This too shall pass

Factory Girl 02:38
Waitin' on a girl she got curlers in her hair Waitin' on a girl got no money anywhere She takes busses everywhere Waitin' on a factory girl Waitin' on a girl she is broken busted flat Waitin' on a girl she wears scarves instead of hats Zippers broken down her back Waitin' on a factory girl Waitin' on a girl and she gets me into fights Waitin' on a girl we get drunk on friday nights She's a sight for sore eyes Waitin' on a factory girl Waitin' on a gril she got stains all down her dress Waitin' on a girl and my feet are gettin' wet She aint come out yet Waitin' on a factory girl

Yes I know I've been away dear For I travel many miles And I know you've been a waitin' It might be a little while Let me grieve the way I must dear For I learnin' everyday Please believe in me and trust me How I yern for you this way And if I ask of you a pardon Would you offer it to me Though I have not done my part dear I do share your misery As I slowly find my feet dear In this valley of my home I do promise you my sweetheart She will always be our own

There stands a maiden tall and fare, Her gaze beyond the waves Not knowing if her lover lives, On the banks of deadly Erie Her Red Rolling Hair comes falling down Bitter tears do bite her cheek Her love long lost within the depths Near the banks of Deadly Erie She looked for clues about her love In hopes that she might find That he had lived from that deathtrap That tore his boat apart For years and years she looked for her love But nothing did avail So there she stands upon the shore On the banks of Deadly Eire Many Years did come and go Her children old and grey But still her ghost is on those hills Near the waters of Deadly Erie Night to night I see her still Though far she seems from me I call for my love but masked I am In the Depths of Deadly Erie

Geology 02:24
Well I could never seem to wrap my head around technology That's why I think I'll sit right here and learn about Geology You see rocks are hard and rocks are hard to break And I am never out of grand when I take a rock in hand And I feel compelled to throw it in the Lake See my cell phone went against the wall My computer got kicked down the hall My automatic coffee maker broke And from hell I heard a beep beep that likes to take me out of sleep I threw the alarm clock out the window when I woke My GPS wont get me there, I'm nautious from the massage chair My electric toothbrush wont get all the plaque My Facebook friends don't get along Now what the hell is Pokemon And the girl inside the computer wont talk back Hell I need to go out for a beer My camera wont take pictures clear Batteries included aint no fun And when I pull up to the bar, the man behind there saw my car And he said "Hey man, how does she run?" Now I'll be on some mountain top Lookin' at a fine out crop Of something that may just be a schist Oh I'll be sittin' pretty, I'll camping with some bitty, Oh no life wont be so shitty, When I can get out of this city And I'm workin', As a geologist

Come on over and stay the night with me I've got something that you might want to see Maybe later I'll sing your favorite song And tonight we'll be laughing at the dawn Hey ey ey Come on over and stay her for a while Told you lately that baby I love your style Down inside me you know that I wont lie When I swear that your eyes change the colors of the skies Sunlight through the night Come on over lets have a drink or two Lets take it easy and we got nothing else to do Forget your sorrow tomorrow will wait for you Lets take it easy cause we got nothing else to do oh oh oh Come on over and stay the night with me I've got something that you might want to see Maybe later I'll sing our favorite song And tonight we'll be laughing at the dawn Hey ey ey

Time came by my window this morning Time woke me up before the sun Time moved on its way without warning Time never asked me if I wanted to come Time rolled in like a cloud on a wind Time rolled out just as slow Leaving behind a shadow on my mind Time never asked me if I wanted to go Time came back like a train on a track Chuggin' down that Adirondack line This time I know when you leave I can't go Time you take yours and I'll take Mine

I am a soldier though I've seen no foreign land No jungle have I traversed though, No battles in the sand Some men might fight with brothers, Like them of flesh and bone But I'll find no strength in others For I'll fight this war alone I am a miner though I own no pick or spade For I dwell down in the deep black ground These dungeons that I've made But I'll dig and wander through these halls, Through walls of earth and stone Out of the dark the caged bird calls But I'll hall this dirt alone. I am a Farmer, though I have no soil to till And an icy wind is blowing in And it's bringing me a chill But I'll bare the burden of this crop From seeds that I had sown My harvest never slows or stops But I'll work this land alone I am a soldier, though I've seen no foreign land

I'm rollin' down these little streams Passin' by these fields of green But they're not Green enough for me The fish are jumpin in my net When the gettin' is good, thats good as it gets But they say thats still not good enough for me (Pre- Chorus) So I waste away every minute of the day Just wishin' I could make it to the shore And the rain comes down, but i never hear the sound Cause I'm too busy a wishin' and a wishin' I got to get more and more (Chorus) Can you feel the Flame ever hotter burning Can you tell the sound of a tide that is turning Can you feel answer the rain of a bell that is tolling Can you hear the rain on a river rollin' I'm

When your mind lays low, And you want someone that she's not Well it's high time to know, All things that you have got You got a mom-o and a pop-o, And a song to sing Got the sunshine and the rain, Boy you got everything So when your mind lays low, And you want someone that she's not That is high time to know, All the things that you have got You got a sister and a brother and you help out one another And you don't mind what you get Cause when you give into the whinin' and complainin' in your mind You're gunna do something you'll regret So when your mind lays low, And you want someone that she's not That is high time to know, All the things that you have got Yes that is high time to know, all the thing that you have got

I Get Burned 05:00
(Chorus) I can't go on this way living for every other day Darling tell me just when did your love turn Your heart is fickle like a flame but it warms me just the same But when I try and touch it I get burned Do you remember when I took your hand And asked you to walk with me together in this land cause I remember the smile on your face but now my dear your smile has been replaced with a grin that i can't help but chase So I chased you down to that apple tree You picked me a big one, so red, so sweet And so I had another, then I had one more But now you don't pick apples for me like you did before I feel rotten and bitter to the core *Chorus* I can't go on this way living for every other day Darling tell me just when did your love turn Your heart is fickle like a flame but it warms me just the same But when I try and touch it I get burned Picking up the pieces of a love that has gone cold You said you'd change your ways and warm it up or so I'm told But you said that to me one time and I heard it all again Now I see the writing on the wall lets not pretend That this is working, I feel this is the end *Chorus* I can't go on this way living for every other day Darling tell me just when did your love turn Your heart is fickle like a flame but it warms me just the same But when I try and touch it I get burned Your heart is fickle as a flame but it warms me just the same And when I try to touch it I get burned

about

This third full-length album from The Brothers Blue comprises road-polished gems and brand new offerings. Eleven of the thirteen tracks are original compositions ranging from old-timey shouts and cries to swinging country two-steps, never shying from asking difficult questions. The remaining tracks include a most danceable Irish waltz and a cover of a Rolling Stones rarity.
